When replacing clutch steel plates, inspect the clutch basket, inner hub and pressure plate for signs of wear, grooving or heat damage. Check removed plates for blue discolouration, glazing or warping. For optimum clutch performance and longevity, replace friction plates and clutch springs at the same time as the steel plates.
